Travelled with family of 11 and had a wonderful time. The food where ever you ate had variety and freshness. Obviously they have done their homework on what the majority would love. The food was fresh and changed daily. The best staff across the whole of the crew whether it be the dining, fun personnel, photographic team to the wonderful and friendly waiters and bar stewards. Lots to do and the serenity area now has secluded cane lounges to offer that more personal sunbathing and opportunity to enjoy cocktails in a quiet setting. Shows were excellent and the 5 days of Island hopping were breathtaking to say the least. Spent quality time in the day spa where you can even get your teeth whitened, extraordinary!! The gym was amazing, imagine running on a treadmill looking through floor to ceiling glass which are situated looking out the front of the ship. Rooms were generous and extremely clean, with staff knowing your name after the 1st meeting. Had such a great time that I would be back on The Spirit in a heartbeat. 11 days was not long enough and still in that time, didn't get to see all of the ship. Will be back very soon. Can't wait.....

We chose the wrong ship! We were on deck 7 in a Balcony Suite on this 8 day cruise Sydney/ Melbourne/Sydney. Embarkation excellent. Cabin good. Cabin service excellent. Dining room and buffet food average to boring, and often only warm. Dining reception staff excellent. Table waiting however needs serious review by management - taking plates away when some diners have not finished the course they were eating. Taking a plate away when the diner has his fork in hand! Nouvelle speciality restaurant disappointing, wine list boring, extra $40 per person not worth it,ambience virtually non existent. Waiters tried hard but not up to the task. Melbourne Cup day excellently organised. Pre-Cup experience on board virtually non existent. No real build up to the big day at all. A missed opportunity for great fun! Post cup day focussed upon Trivia, Bingo, Karaoke, casino. The shows were at best mediocre. The Cruise Director's performance was very poor when compared with our previous experiences on Ocean and River cruises worldwide. Management never missed an opportunity to extract money from the passengers even charging for bottled water in the cabin. The public rooms decor was updated in August 2015. They wasted A$44 Million! If you are a fan of garish Fun Ship extravaganza, mindless entertainment, copious quantities of ordinary food and general razzamatas, this is definitely the ship for you. Disembarkation was brilliantly organised.

I returned from a Carnival Spirit cruise to Noumea late May and a small bingo win left me $80 in credit; was told, with other passengers, refunds would to be returned by cheque or to the original source of funds, within a few days.
Despite three emails. . . nothing !
Very poor, however cruise was brilliant, especially the dining and staff.

I went on carnival for my kids thinking it would be more entertaining. How very wrong. Unfortunately we got windy weather and found the ship does not cater for this. Every activity for the kids are on the high decks so once it's windy there is no basketball, mini golf, slides, ping pong. My kids would hang out for the afternoon deck games near the pool for some entertainment but they only did that every second day and played a 10 min game for over 12 or 18 year old only. The only thing I would rate as awesome on the ship was the restaurant service and food was amazing and the cabin stewards were also great but entertainment wise that needs a whole reboot (maybe a tad less trivia and more pool side interaction with guests to get the mood up). For a kids ship I thought it was the worst for that maybe great if you have perfect clear days with no wind. Every night when we would get our "fun times" booklet even my kids would laugh at the same thing everyday - trivia trivia trivia!!!! It was the only cruise I have been on that even 4 days into it I was dreading being in the boat for another 6 nights
