Dissapointing 3 night 'cruise'

Disappointed with the 3 night 'cruise' as we didn't cruise for most of the trip, but rather floated at sea at less than 1 knot with no wake!! Consequently the cruising experience was in my view much diminished, i.e. little to no breeze on our balcony and ship wallowing and slapping on waves (not great for a good night's sleep). Friends of ours on the starboard side could smell the cigarette smoke wafting up from deck 6 which wouldn't have happened if we were cruising. Not being able to book a table at the Waterfront restaurant was a great disappointment too, as was no duty free alcohol for sale. General service was also not as good as experienced on 2 previous P&O cruises. Food was OK, but the menu in the restaurant also not as good as on previous P&O cruises. Many of the public toilets on the cruise also did not work for long periods of time - not sure if this had something to do with the very slow forward movement of the ship. Thank goodness we were with good friends for company which made the cruise worthwhile.

We had a fantastic time, very pleased with our 4 Night Whit Sundays Cruise. Being 1st timers & not knowing what to expect, we were excited every day at what the cruise offered, more than enough choices of what to do every day. We loved the food choices, enjoyed the shows! and the high light for us, was going on a Tender over & back to Airlie beach, what an experience that was. Thank you to all, Cruise Guru & P&O Cruises for our 1st look at cruising, we are now very hooked & will be doing it again!

We were very disappointed with our balcony which we paid good dollars for certainly couldn't sunbathe and paint peeling off various parts of ship. On the good side the staff were great and we still had a great time. I think the alcohol is far too dear and I will not be cruising with P & O again. Compared to Holland America this was a poor relation the ship is getting old and a bit tired perhaps this is why they are on the Island hopper run.

I took my wife on her first cruise & she loved it. We went on an 11 night cruise & had an awesome time. The entertainer & food was out of this world. There was always plenty to do onboard while at sea & the staff where great. Many people say the ship is too old & needs to be retired but I say it's great old ship & had a lot of character. The destinations we where able to get to where amazing. If I had to pick one, it would be Santos. We got taken around by a local taxi driver who was amazing. He took us to a few lovely places & then took us to a restaurant for lunch. The food was delicious & the service was just as good. Our driver has even given us his contact details so if we ever go back he will drive us around. We so many lovely people onboard the ship to whom we have kept in contact with. My wife loved it that much we are planning another one in 2 years to Tonga / Fiji. I highly recommended anyone to at least try a cruise at least once.
