With countries such as the US, UK, Singapore, Japan, and parts of Europe restarting their cruise industry to overwhelming success, you might be wondering when will cruises resume in Australia? The cruise industry and operators across Australia (and across the world) have been working tirelessly to create a safe and stress-free environment for locals to adventure again, and we at Cruise Guru cannot wait till cruises can once again restart and we can #readysetsail!

Hundreds of thousands of guests have already successfully sailed over the last 12 months, and with 141 cruise ships from 50 different operators setting sail in July 2021 alone, it’s clear to see that when cruises resume, travellers will happily book. What’s more, with new and enhanced methods put in place across every cruise line to reduce and avoid the chance of potential spread, holidaying on the seas has never been safer. With the demand for cruising growing plus health and safety protocols being better than ever, there’s only one real question left to ask – when will Australian cruises resume?

How can you help cruises resume in Australia?

Want to take action and help cruises restart in Australia? Let your voice be heard by urging your local, state, and federal government representatives to finalise a pathway to resumption for the Australian cruise industry. Simply visit #ReadySetSail created by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and fill out their nifty form to directly contact your nearest representative. With more than $5 billion already wiped from Australia’s economy since suspensions began, now has never been a more urgent time to build a path that sees cruises resume and help save more than 18,000 jobs that are at risk.

When will cruises restart in Australia?

While there has been no confirmation on specific dates by the Government (yet!) on when cruises resume in Australia, cruise lines have set their own dates on when they believe they’ll be able to take Australians on fantastic adventures once more. Whether they’re domestic jaunts to fantastic destinations across Australia or unforgettable international voyages to countries we have established a travel bubble with, such as New Zealand, it’s safe to say that thousands of Aussies are more than ready to see cruises resume. Rather than jump about every cruise lines’ website, we’ve collated all the relevant cruise resumption dates to give a full picture of when will cruises resume in Australia.
