I loved the pacific pearl. It was a great ship. I also found the p&o staff and crew very helpful in all aspects. The food we found out was all australia made and the food was fabulous, plenty to eat. The day before we got back, i got seasick and spent the day in bed. The pills i took didn't work. I need to find something better. If I found sime, i would go again. Cruising is great, fun and relaxing.

Whilst rating this my worst cruise ever I must say it was not terrible however. The buffet style dining was very repetative although good quality. No trays on which to carry your food made life a challenge too.It appears too many cut backs have caused to many problems.Only being able to dine until 9pm was inconvienent too. No late night snacks etc. Day time entertainment was very poor too. Norfolk Island trip cancelled yet again makes me ask why it is on the itinary as it was a huge factor in booking this cruise a view shared by many fellow passengers. The ship is shabby in every standard and really needs to be retired! All staff however were excellent in every way. It is P and O who need to lift their game.
As there are many lines available for people to use I can't see P and O being used again by many many of my fellow travellers. Sad!

My husband and I booked this cruise well in advance to celebrate our 25th anniversary. In hindsight, and according to other travellers it is best to wait until closer to travelling time for specials. We had a balcony room, which was very nice. Our cabin steward Jun was lovely and did an excellent job. One problem was the toilet wouldn't flush. We heard this had happened to a few people, not just us. It was fixed later in the day. Another problem..no hot water. This happened once near the end of the cruise. It was fixed and was due to a leak somewhere. It would be nice if once these issues arose, there would be announcements to let people know what is going on, rather than hearing it from other passengers. Beware of the shopping on board as it is mainly Billabong and Ripcurl..quite expensive. The Pearl itself was ok..a bit shabby. Staff friendly at all times. Waterfront restaurant was the better place to eat. Cocktails were quite nice...just wondering how much alcohol was in them, as the tasted mostly like milkshakes! I heard they only put half nips in, but don't know how true that is. We would go again if we got a good deal.
