Cruises from Rome FAQ’s

How to do I get from Rome Airport to Civitavecchia Cruise Port?

There are three main methods of transport to get from the airports in Rome to Cruise Port in Civitavecchia: Taxi, train, or private shuttle. While going by train is by far the cheapest option, there is unfortunately at this time no direct train line going straight to the cruise port. As such, you will need to awkwardly carry your luggage across the cobblestone streets of Rome for an extended amount of time. At Cruise Guru, we recommend taking a taxi or organising with either your cruise line or externally a private transfer. While more expensive, it more than makes up for this with convenience and general safety of your luggage.

How long does it take to get from Rome Airport to Civitavecchia Cruise Port?

This is dependent on the airport you depart from. It takes approximately 50 minutes from Fiumicino Airport or 90 minutes from Ciampino Airport via taxi to Civitavecchia Cruise Port. Going via train from Fiumicino airport takes around 120 minutes, with 30 of those minutes spent walking between trains and to the port itself as no direct trains run to Civitavecchia Cruise Port. Bear in mind for all routes that congestion on the roads and general delays might extend this trip, so be sure to leave plenty of time to get to the cruise port from the airport.
